Paul Calzada

Mr. Calzada is a bono fide Texan and native Houstonian. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas in 1998 as a recipient of the Texas Academic Honors Award, a five-year full scholarship.
After graduation from The University of Texas, Mr. Calzada worked as in the mental health field as a Psychiatric Technician and a Family Crisis Intervention Specialist for MHMR of Tarrant County where Mr. Calzada maintained Qualified Mental Health Professional status.
In 2000, Mr. Calzada attended the University of Houston Law Center. While a student, Mr. Calzada took the February 2003 Texas Bar Exam, prior to his graduation. Mr. Calzada passed the bar and was a licensed attorney upon graduation in May of 2003.

Ramos Paul CalzadaWhile in law school, Mr. Calzada was elected Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, the Hispanic Law Student Association Treasurer and was the the Aspiring Youth Committee Head from 2000-2002. Mr. Calzada was also selected to the Mock Trial Team and the Moot Court Team. Mr. Calzada was a 2002 Hippard Mock Trial Semi-Finalist.
Mr. Calzada was also recognized for his leadership and service by receiving the ExxonMobil Leadership Award in 2001 and the Dean’s Scholarship for Public Interest Work in 2002. Mr. Calzada spent the summer of 2002 as an intern for Lone Star Legal Aid, where he helped qualified clients in civil matters.
After graduation, Mr. Calzada worked at a Houston medical malpractice defense firm. While gaining civil trial experience, Mr. Calzada also developed an understanding of the human side to litigation. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Calzada worked at Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, a non-profit law firm dedicated to representing those affected by domestic violence.
Using his experience gained as a civil litigator and a family law attorney, Mr. Calzada opened his private practice in 2006. As a solo practitioner, Mr. Calzada handled all aspects of his cases. He developed a deep understanding of the personal toll of intense family law litigation. Drawing upon his education in psychology, his work experience in family crisis intervention, and his legal skill from civil litigation and family law, Mr. Calzada was able to effectively counsel his clients in all aspects of divorce and family law cases.
Mr. Calzada was recognized for his efforts by being selected for the following awards:
