MEET THE JUDGE
Judge Tristan H. Longino earned a BS in business administration from the University of Richmond and worked as a broker for Merrill Lynch. He started his family law career when in clerked for Hon. Robert Hinojosa in the 312th District court and was a law clerk for John F. Nichols, Sr. a well-respected practitioner, and author of many family law publications. Longino then graduated from law school and earned his license to practice law on 11/04/2011. In under seven years of practice, he earned his Board Certification in Family Law and was elected judge in the 2018 mid-term elections. He also brings many new ideas and potential process improvements for the court to reduce the cost of cases for the litigants while making the entire process more efficient.
- Eliminate docket call and have litigants sign in on the docket as they arrive and provide a time estimate.
- Prove-up by Affidavit – He estimates this will save litigants 1-2 hours of billable time.
- Protective Orders – When Divorce or Custody is at issue, the court will accept these cases to avoid litigating the case twice on the same set of facts.
