MEET THE JUDGE

Judge Janice Berg earned a BS from Columbia University in 2003 and a JD from the University of Houston Law Center in 2008. Judge Berg believes that children need to be happy, have healthy parents but parents do not have to be married. She understands that all families are unique and while standard language may work for one family it may not work for another. Judge Berg understands divorce since being raised by a single mother and the effect it can have on children.

She has a dog named Tag, who is 13 years old. She is a member of several groups such as Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Institute, Civil Rights Committee and Associate Board. She also travels to D.C. to lobby for increased voting rights protections on ADL’s behalf and refugee programs.

According to the Harris County District Clerk website she has handled 116 Civil/Family cases and 1 Criminal case in Harris County since being licensed. That said, we are not including cases in other counties or those cases filed under another attorney’s bar number which can be the case when working as an associate.
