Judge Kali Morgan | 505th Family Court
MEET THE JUDGE
Judge Kali Morgan has presided over the 505th Court since January 1, 2021. Her current term ends in 2024.
Judge Morgan is a native Houstonian. Prior to taking the bench, she was in private practice as the owner of The Law Office of Kali R. Morgan, which was devoted exclusively to family law matters. In 2012, she began working with the State of Texas as an Assistant Disciplinary Counsel (Trial Attorney) for the State Bar of Texas and as a Regional Attorney for the Department of Family and Protective Services. She has represented the State of Texas in family law and civil litigation cases across multiple counties. She also provided legal and courtroom training for new State of Texas employees.
She is passionate about service and has devoted her career to serving the needs of the underserved and underrepresented. She has provided low-cost and pro-bono legal services during her time in private practice. She believes everyone, no matter their experiences or walk of life, should be able to have equal access to the court system.
She is a wife and a mother to three children. She is also a first-generation college graduate and hails from a proud military family, which she credits to her values of hard work and integrity.
