Judge Angela Lancelin | 245th Family Court
MEET THE JUDGE
Judge Angela Lancelin has presided over the 245th Court since January 1, 2023. Her current term ends in 2027. Judge Lancelin was born in Los Angeles, California. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego in 1998 and a J.D. from Texas Southern University in 1991. She has 29 years of litigation experience as an attorney, with 26 of those years as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Texas Attorney General (“OAG”). Her duties for the OAG involved complex litigation, as Judge Lancelin was designated as the special litigator for Texas Regions 6, 5 and 20 to manage bankruptcy claims and participate in various adversarial hearings on behalf of the OAG. Judge Lancelin is also licensed in the Southern, Northern, and Eastern bankruptcy courts.
Judge Lancelin a single mother to her teenage son. Her values in the courtroom, according to her campaign, are diversity, integrity and transparency. She hopes that her Court is safe space for each party to express concerns without judgment and provide equal access to the Court for all.
